LAN switches

OmniSwitch 9900LAN switches ensure the operability of equipment according to standards and support switching with the required number of services. They can provide multi-level switching and connect a certain number of LAN devices or the number of segments of this network.

Switches combine devices such as workstations, servers, printers, scanners, etc., at the L2 channel level, within one local network segment.

All switches can be divided into managed and unmanaged ones.

Managed switches provide packet switching at the network layer of the OSI model (Layer 3) and have advanced functions such as virtual networks (VLANs), traffic quality of service (QoS), channel aggregation, packet duplication of one port on another, traffic segmentation between ports, detection, and prevention of network loops, speed adjustment on ports, etc.

Unmanaged switches provide packet switching with standard settings embedded in the firmware by the manufacturer. Network administrators do not have access to switch settings management.

By design and functionality, all switches can be divided into single (a device with a fixed number and type of network interfaces), modular (a device with slots for installing modules with different types and number of network interfaces) and stackable (allows to combine several physical switches into one logical one to increase the number of ports).

All network equipment manufacturers offer a large selection of different switch models to meet current needs optimally:
