A key player in complex transformations with high customer demands, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise continues its development strategy based on a vertical approach and cooperation with partners in local markets.
Starting in 2020, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of communication, networking, and cloud solutions, is confidently moving into a new decade, building on its 100-year history.
Founded in 1919, Alcatel-Lucent celebrated 100 years of “connecting things” last year. The company has evolved from a pioneer in the French telecommunications industry into a global technology corporation operating in more than 50 countries and maintaining partnerships with many well-known global brands. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has developed alongside the evolution of communication and networking technologies, emphasizing its continuous commitment to innovation. Combining commercial success with corporate responsibility, ALE is a forward-looking company with a solid heritage.

Today, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise serves more than 830,000 customers and has extensive expertise in five main sectors: healthcare, education, hospitality, transportation, and government. Major contracts signed by the group in 2019 highlight its global leadership position in these five sectors.
Among its recent education projects was the deployment of a data center solution for California State University using OmniSwitch and OmniVista technologies from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise. By creating a more efficient network infrastructure, reducing latency, backup time, and load, ALE’s solution saved the State of California approximately $100 million and enabled the implementation of services such as video, unified communications, surveillance, HD television over the network, and BYOD device support.
A government project for the city of Münster, Germany, provided mobile communications and wireless LAN using the Stellar WLAN solution, offering a comprehensive, unified wireless infrastructure with centralized management across 80 locations.
At the same time, ALE offers the OmniAccess Stellar solution for the hospitality industry, enabling wide, public connectivity for both travelers and business users.
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has a long-standing history of supporting humanitarian organizations worldwide. A notable example is its ongoing cooperation with Mercy Ships, which provides modern clinical care to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities through hospital ships. In 2020, ALE will use its expertise to modernize the “Africa Mercy” vessel and equip it with the latest systems to support this mission. ALE is also part of the UN Global Compact initiative and contributes its resources to support human rights, environmental protection, and anti-corruption efforts.
Since late 2018, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has been a technology partner of the South African NTT Pro Cycling team (formerly Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka). Through multi-year sponsorship extending into 2020, ALE provides communication and collaboration tools for one of the world’s leading cycling teams.

With ALE, the NTT Pro Cycling team benefits from continuous wireless connectivity between riders and staff under any conditions, as well as a comprehensive asset tracking system that improves coordination across all areas. When professional athletes require technologies to maintain their high standards, ALE is a reliable partner of choice.
In its 101st year, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is moving forward confidently, enhancing the execution of its vertical, cloud, and service-based strategies to grow its solutions. The company continues its organizational development program and focuses its resources on 30 key markets, one of which is Ukraine.
In 2020, ALE will continue developing digital-era technologies to support businesses with networking solutions that deliver the services they need in the digital age. Such service-defined networks provide connectivity from the data center to the access layer, enabling organizations to easily, automatically, and securely connect people, processes, applications, and objects needed to navigate digital transformation.
